Church Park is a traditional Gower cottage. It is situated in the heart of the village and is adjacent to the village bus stop and telephone box. It is next to the churchyard of St. Mary’s church. Although all doors are of standard width, there are a number of corners and steps in the cottage, which make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility or wheelchair users.

There is parking for two cars on gravel to the rear of the property. Although this parking area is private, the coastal path and the church have pedestrian rights of way, so cars must be parked considerately so that pedestrian access is not hindered. For guidance, please see relevant photographs in the visitor information folder, which will be found in the kitchen.

The cottage has two entrances. If accessing the property from a car, the rear entrance would normally be used. There is a step down to the rear door and a step into the rear lobby area.

From the road side there is a gate onto a sloping path leading up to the front porch. There is a small step into the porch, which has a floor of quarry tiles. Entry to the house is up a step through a second door into a small entrance lobby.

There is level access from the entrance lobby into the sitting room to the left and into the dining room to the right. All these floors are laid with oak boarding. There is a rug on the sitting room floor.

There is level entry between the kitchen and cloakroom and the rear lobby. The lobby and kitchen floors are tiled. There is a cupboard between the rear lobby and the kitchen, which is used for storing cleaning equipment and can also be used for boots, shoes and other items. There are steps down from the kitchen to the sitting room and to the dining room. There is a door with a step from the dining room into the side courtyard.

The cloakroom is completely tiled and contains a wash hand basin, toilet and shower. The shower area is tiled with non-slip safety tiles.

The main staircase leads up from the front entrance lobby. The staircase has a handrail at each side and is carpeted. There is an adjustable stair gate at the top of this staircase. There is a second secret staircase leading from the rear lobby. This staircase is carpeted and is accessed through a panelled door and is an original feature of the cottage. At the top of the staircase is a trapdoor which can be easily secured. N.B. A competent adult must supervise use by children of the secret staircase and the trapdoor.

There are three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. At the top of the main staircase there is level access to the two main bedrooms. These bedrooms have vanity units fitted with wash hand basins and hot and cold water.

Two steps down lead to a landing with the third bedroom on the left and to the bathroom on the right.

The bathroom is large and contains a walk-in shower, a bath, toilet and wash hand basin.

There is an enclosed courtyard to the left of the property. This can be accessed from the dining room and also by a door from the front garden and a door from the rear of the cottage. The courtyard is paved. The front garden is paved and bordered with shrubs. There are steps to the right and left hand sides of the garden. It is accessed from the front porch or from the door from the side courtyard. It can also be accessed via the gate to the road. A lockable shed is located at the rear to the left hand side of the front garden.

The sitting room has a wood burning stove and is fitted with a carbon monoxide detector.

The dining room has an LPG cast iron stove. See the visitor information folder for lighting instructions.

There is a fire blanket and fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

There is a smoke alarm in the rear lobby and a second smoke alarm on the upstairs landing.
